Evaluating inclusivity of units
Exemplar of a comprehensive evaluation of individual units against international standards for inclusive teaching and learning practice.
A small team of casual academics evaluated the inclusivity of six Faculty of Arts and Education units which had high numbers of low socioeconomic status (LSES) students. The team produced a plan of action for each unit, outlining and scoping ways the units could better meet the learning needs of LSES students (and all students). Recommendations provided the basis for major unit enhancements and laid foundations for future collaborative work between academic and professional staff.
