Join us to find out how to collaborate with CRADLE

Wednesday 10 April at 2pm

There are several opportunities for researching with CRADLE and we are holding an event aimed at Deakin staff who are interested in collaborating on research in assessment and/or digital learning. The event program will include an overview of current trends in assessment and digital learning research and how they align with our three research themes:

Empty exam hall showing chairs, tables and exam papers ready.

Assessing for Learning

Learning in a digital world

Learning through, and for, work

We will introduce the CRADLE team and discuss formal opportunities for collaboration work with us. There will also be some targeted networking amongst participants.

CRADLE staff, including the Foundation Director Alfred Deakin Professor David Boud; Co-Director Professor Phillip Dawson; Professor Margaret Bearman and Senior Research Fellow Dr Joanna Tai, as well as current CRADLE Fellowship holders, will be sharing examples of their work. You will also be able to discuss your research interests to identify opportunities for collaboration, including applying for CRADLE Fellowships and the Development Partners Scheme.

  • When: Wednesday 10 April
  • Time: 2 – 3.30pm AEST
  • Where: Deakin Downtown, 727 Collins St, Melbourne
  • Cost: This is a free event

Aim of the event

The event is designed to:

  • Discuss current trends in higher education assessment and digital learning research.
  • Meet and identify possible collaborators in higher education research across Deakin.
  • Understand eligibility and processes for applying to the CRADLE Fellowship Scheme and Development Partners Scheme, including what makes a competitive application.

CRADLE Fellowships

CRADLE Fellowships are open to post-doctoral researchers who are on a continuing or fixed term position (with 2 years remaining on contract). Applicants must be able to demonstrate the relevance of their proposed research to CRADLE’s current research activities and our current programs of research.

CRADLE Fellowships offer funding of $15,000 to support each Fellow’s collaborative research program for research activities, and in some instances, to buy out teaching time.

Development Partners Scheme

The Development Partners Scheme is open to Deakin staff who would like to work with CRADLE team members to take new research-based ideas they have developed and implement aspects of them in Deakin courses. This scheme is more practical and focused on the development of pedagogy at Deakin, with an opportunity to learn and be involved in related research activities. This year we are focused on the theme of feedback literacy.
