Please join us for our fifth online CRADLE Seminar Series presentation with Professor Sian Bayne. Prof. Bayne is a Professor of Digital Education at the University of Edinburgh, Director of Education at the Edinburgh Futures Institute, and Assistant Principal for Digital Education.
She is also the Director of the Centre for Research in Digital Education, and teaches MSc in Digital Education at Edinburgh. Her interests include research into higher education futures, interdisciplinary approaches to researching digital education and digital pedagogy.
In this talk, Prof Bayne will share some insights into the research of the Centre for Research in Digital Education at the University of Edinburgh, through a discussion of the ‘Manifesto for Teaching Online’, a published in book form by MIT Press.
The Manifesto – the first version of which was produced in 2011 – is based in a diverse and critical research program in online and digital education which has been underway for the last 15 years.
The Manifesto advocates for strong research-based, critical, and creative practice, and asserts the agency of institutions, academics, and students over our education futures.
