You’re invited to join us at CRADLE Conference 2020

I’ve been lucky enough to attend all of CRADLE’s previous annual international research symposia:
- 2016: Developing evaluative judgement in a digital world;
- 2017: Reimagining assessment in a digital world;
- 2018: The impact of feedback in higher education (co-hosted with Monash University); and
- 2019: Advancing research in student feedback literacy.
The aim of CRADLE symposia is to bring together select groups of researchers for focused development of a particular higher education topic. Our past symposia have led to three books*, and the 2019 symposium has focused on developing a series of papers exploring feedback literacy.
For CRADLE’s fifth anniversary, we wish to engage more broadly with our local higher ed research community. To this end, we’re hosting an inaugural research in higher education conference, ‘University Assessment, Teaching and Learning: New Research Directions for a Postdigital World‘. The aim of this conference is to interrogate conceptual, theoretical and empirical explorations of higher education in a postdigital world. The conference will run from 19-20 October 2020 and will take place in Melbourne, Australia.
We have confirmed Professor Monika Nerland, from the University of Oslo, and Associate Professor Alyssa Wise, from New York University, as keynote speakers.
As conference lead, I am hoping that we can bring together the fantastic conversations already taking place around Australia. Our program of symposia (linked research papers on the one topic), research paper presentations and works-in-progress rapid orals offers plenty of time for discussion and networking. The emphasis is on rigorous, theoretically grounded work that will extend current research.
