Inclusive language and glossary
Language matters! It can so easily make a student or fellow staff-member feel included and valued – or the reverse. When you use inclusive language in a classroom it will encourage every student to feel part of a conversation and have a voice. In this section we provide a guide to inclusive language – language that does not discriminate against or demean anyone – and also a glossary explaining many of the terms you will encounter in the area of inclusive education, within this site and elsewhere.
