Metropolitan Melbourne lockdown restrictions have been extended – what this means for students
Current Metropolitan Melbourne restrictions remain in place for a further seven days until 11.59pm, Thursday 10 June, with a couple of minor changes:
- People will be able to travel a little further for exercise and shopping, with an expanded radius of 10km from your home.
The five reasons you can leave your home remain:
- Shopping for necessary goods and services.
- Authorised work or permitted education.
- Care-giving, compassionate and medical reasons.
- Exercise: a two-hour limit with one other person.
- To get COVID-19 vaccinated – it is strongly recommended all eligible people get their vaccination.
Teaching and learning activities for the next seven days
All exams scheduled to commence next week, Monday 7 June, will continue as planned, including on-campus exams.
All on-campus teaching and learning activities (excluding exams) continue to be paused or deferred, except for permitted medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health students undertaking critical training and examinations.
Approved student health and medical placements, including beyond the 10km limit, will continue where partner institutions remain open and will be managed directly by the schools. Work integrated learning will shift to online or be postponed. Students impacted will be directly contacted through your unit site or by a Work Integrated Learning Coordinator.
