Placement coming up? Complete this module first and know your rights
Do you have a placement or work-integrated learning (WIL) experience coming up? Congrats – these are rewarding opportunities which can boost your learning, professional growth, networking and future employability!
We know that placements and internships can also involve change and transitional challenges, particularly if it’s your first time entering a professional workplace.
Deakin’s new module can help contribute to a respectful and inclusive work placement experience.
This module has been designed for you to complete before undertaking a placement or internship, and it should only take about 15 minutes to work through.
Case studies will help you to understand key issues, including:
- your rights to a respectful and inclusive workplace experience
- where to seek advice and support.
You can access this module via the self-registration in tool in DeakinSync. Simply search for ‘Respectful and Inclusive Workplace Pre-Placement Module’.
Please note this module is optional and is not intended to replace course or unit-specific placement information or pre-placement requirements.
