Represent Deakin with a ‘vape-free’ artwork piece and you could win a $1500 gift card!
Are you a student with an artistic spark, and interested in promoting healthy behaviours and anti-vaping among your peers? Maybe you’re keen to contribute to a healthier community at university?
Then get your imagination firing because we want current students to join our Vape-free Deakin movement and showcase your creativity by submitting a captivating poster, sign, slogan or video to our university competition!
This is part of a inter-university competition supported by VicHealth’s Collective Impact Approach to Vaping and its mission is to reduce or prevent the uptake of vaping among young people. Deakin along with Monash University, Swinburne University and The University of Melbourne are each inviting their currently enrolled students to create a poster, sign or video containing a slogan that addresses vaping amongst university students.
Make it meaningful and memorable!
Enter the Vape-Free Future: Victorian Universities competition where you will have creative license to create your own interpretation of vape-free living. We are looking for outstanding designs from our students that aim to reduce and/or prevent the uptake of vaping among young people and elevate student voices on this topic.
Two winners will be selected and will then be submitted to the inter-university competition representing Deakin!
The big question: what’s in it for me?
Aside from recognition of your creation, there’s some great prizes up for grabs!
If you create one of the two winning designs at Deakin, as selected by a panel of University staff and students, you’ll receive one of two $250 Coles groceries gift cards.
Then, these two winning designs will be submitted to the Inter-University Competition along with the two winning designs from Monash University, Swinburne University, and The University of Melbourne. The top three winning designs from this pool will be selected by a judging panel from the Australian Health Promotion Association. The first prize is a $1500 JB Hi-Fi gift card, the second prize is a $300 Coles grocery gift card, and the third prize is a $200 Coles grocery gift card.

It’s not just Deakin taking this stance –all Victorian universities have similar policies. So, if you see someone vaping or smoking on campus, politely ask them to stop or butt out!
