Make the most of Trimester 3: book in for a free health check (you could also win $100!)
If you’re studying in Trimester 3 (T3), it’s important to stay on top of your health and give yourself the best chance of succeeding at your studies – after all, it’s been a long year!
We encourage you to take stock of how you’re feeling – physically and mentally – by booking in for a free on-campus health check.
Health checks are available to all international students, regardless of which provider you’re with for your Overseas Health Cover (OSHC) and whether you’re a new or a continuing student. Oh, and they’re totally free!
What happens during a health check
You’ll visit one of our Deakin Health and Wellbeing Centres for your health check, which takes just 30 minutes and gives you a quick snapshot of your overall health.
Your consultation will be with a friendly and qualified Bupa nurse. You’ll have a glucose and blood pressure check, and discuss your health and wellbeing. You’ll also receive a personal results booklet that includes health information and advice specific to your gender and age group.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve had a health check before – we encourage you to book in for another one. That way, you’ll see how you’re progressing or be able to follow up on any issues.
Free appointments are available throughout T3 – but places will fill up fast, so don’t delay:
During your appointment you must wear a face mask. Please do NOT attend if you’re isolating for COVID-19 on the day of your health check. If you’re not feeling well or you’re a confirmed contact, visit the Victorian Government COVID Checklist to find out what you should do now.
You could also win $100!
All students who attend a T3 health check by Wednesday 30 November will go into the draw to win a $100 Rebel Sport voucher! Just fill in the competition form after your consultation to enter.
