Make a difference at Deakin: apply to become a Student Partner and gain valuable project experience
Would you like to gain professional project experience while you’re studying? Want to help our staff improve the student experience for both you and your peers at Deakin? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
Deakin is currently recruiting Student Partners for a range of 2022 projects which relate to specific schools or faculties, or particular topics or challenges facing the University. All projects are guided by Deakin’s equity-first principles, with a focus on improving the undergraduate student experience post-COVID-19.
Why should I become a Student Partner?
Supported through the Office of the Dean of Students, Students as Partners at Deakin is a centrally run suite of programs which encourage reciprocal learning between students and staff. As a student, we value your expertise in your lived experiences and, via the program, we seek to reposition students as co-creators in strategic initiatives to benefit all at the University.
As a Student Partner, you’ll receive project and leadership training to contribute to your professional development (a great look on your CV!). It’s also an excellent opportunity to connect with your peers, make new friends and have your voice heard by the University.
What will my participation involve?
Requirements will vary depending on the project you are assigned to, but generally you will be involved in attending online or on-campus training sessions, collaborating with other team members, and attending and contributing to project team meetings to help meet the aims of your project.
Am I eligible to take part?
This opportunity to open to primarily domestic undergraduate students, but Masters and international students may apply to be placed on a back-up list.
