Complete an internship with an Indigenous organisation
The Aurora Project Internship Program is currently seeking Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students for winter internships in Indigenous organisations. The internships focus on areas such as:
- native title
- land rights
- policy development
- advocacy
- justice
- health and social welfare
- human rights
- community development
- environmental policy.
How it works
The internships run for four to six weeks or part-time equivalent. Placements are available in all major cities and some remote/regional areas of Australia. You’ll receive funding of $800 per week, which covers living expenses and up to $2800 for travel and accommodation for away-from-home internships.

Who’s eligible
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander undergraduate and postgraduate students from any academic background are eligible. You’ll need:
- a solid academic record
- an interest in the area of native title and/or the broader Indigenous sector
- a strong sense of cultural awareness
- good interpersonal and communication skills.
Depending on the internship, some other specific course requirements may also apply.
