Now, more than ever, we all need to take special care of ourselves, of each other and find inventive ways to share in some fun.
What makes you feel a sense of connection, meaning and happiness? Belonging can mean different things for everyone.
That’s why from Monday we’re kicking off a week of activities to celebrate DUSA’s U Belong Week 2021 (Monday 23–Friday 27 August)! We want you to feel inspired to get creative, learn something new, have some laughs with your fellow students and enjoy all the progress you’ve made so far this trimester.
Here’s a sneak peek of what DUSA has planned for you next week.
Roar with pride
Ahead of Wear It Purple Day on Friday 27 August, join us online for a fun session of queer networking including a screening of The Roar!!! and a Q&A panel discussion.
The Roar!!!, a film which reflects the pride journeys of creators Sally Conning and Jax Wake, led to the creation of the ‘Dinosaur Squad’, a group of Story-telling QUeers Against Discrimination – find out more about this inspiring project when you register!

Join us for a jam-packed U Belong online session, run by our DUSA Clubs and filled with chats and entertainment! Don’t miss out on the live performances by Deakin Voice, the Deakin University Nepali Society (DUNS), the Deakin University Sri Lankan Association, Deakin Sustainable Food Movement, and many more.
Also, DUNS and DUSA will be spinning the famous DUSA wheel live at the event, so every attendee will automatically be in the draw to WIN – we’ll be giving away thirty $10 gift vouchers and a BIG gift hamper at the end of the session!

Get wild
Join us for this fascinating opportunity to meet Australian wildlife up close with Wild Action Zoologist, Chris Humfrey. Chris will enthral and entertain you with his amazing encyclopedic knowledge of our beautiful native animals! Filmed and digitally broadcast from Wild Action Zoo, you’ll have an unprecedented behind-the-scenes tour of this amazing wildlife facility.
