Deakin Criminologist @ Oxford Centre for Criminology
This week Deakin Criminology’s Dr Kate Fitz-Gibbon has begun a three-month Academic Visitor position in the Centre for Criminology at Oxford University.
Kate will be based at the Centre from now until the end of February 2014 during which she will be working on a range of projects. This includes research examining comparative approaches to reforming the law of homicide in Australia and the United Kingdom as well as a new research project analysing emerging challenges in the law’s response to child perpetrated homicide.
During her time in the UK Kate will also be presenting guest seminars on her research examining the intended and unintended consequences of homicide law reform in Australia and England at the University of Liverpool, University of Manchester and London School of Economics.
Kate’s trip to the UK is funded by an Ian Potter Foundation Travel Grant and by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Deakin University.
