Deakin Criminologist, Dr Wendy O’Brien, contributes to intercontinental exchange on strategies to eliminate violence against children in conflict with the law
Dr Wendy O’Brien returned from Bangkok this week, after attending the second meeting of the Asia Pacific Council on Juvenile Justice Subcommittee for ASEAN. The meeting was jointly organised by the International Juvenile Justice Observatory (Belgium), and the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection of the Thai Ministry of Justice. Attended by representatives of UNODC, UNICEF, and ASEAN Member States, the meeting comprised a dialogue on cross border safeguards for children in conflict with the law, as well as a discussion about strategies to eliminate violence against children in conflict with the law.
