Deakin University is hosting the Student-led Voice to Parliament Forum.
This is a student-led initiative, endorsed by Deakin University and the Vice-Chancellor to invite students to actively participate in informed conversations, learn about the proposal, discuss its implications and share perspectives.
Forum details
As this is a live, open discussion, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panel.

The panellists
Dr Shireen Morris
Senior Lecturer at Macquarie Law School.
Dr Morris researches, teaches and publishes in constitutional law and constitutional reform, Indigenous constitutional recognition, as well as public law more generally, specialising in the concept of a First Nations constitutional voice.
Dr Oscar Roos
Senior Lecturer in Deakin Law School.
Dr Roos is the Winner of the 2021 Saunders Prize awarded by the Australian Association of Constitutional Law for excellence in Australian constitutional law scholarship.
Ms Teela Reid
Teela Reid is a proud Wiradjuri and Wailwan woman, lawyer, essayist, storyteller and co-founder of @blackfulla_bookclub, a platform that honours First Nation’s Ancestors as the original Storytellers. Currently, Teela is a Sydney-based Senior Solicitor practicing in Aboriginal Land Rights litigation and is the current Practitioner in residence at Sydney Law School. She is also a campaigner for the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
Mr Benjamin Abbatangelo
Ben is a Gunaikurnai and Wotjobaluk activist, writer, journalist and deputy CEO of AIME. He is also a former Melbourne Starts cricket player. Ben has written for The Saturday Paper, The Guardian, Indigenous X and has appeared on Q&A for the ABC.
