Please note that this event has expired.

You’re invited to a free keynote lecture by artist Fayen d’Evie, which coincides with her exhibition at the Deakin University Art Gallery: I brave a whirlwind of dust, whilst those around me close their eyes

d’Evie’s creative research explores issues of access and participation in the arts. Through intersensory conversations, her work aims to remove barriers and allow all people, including people with disability, to experience contemporary art.

Using sound, touch, movement, performance and language, d’Evie explores forms of non-visual communications and translation to expand on traditional limits of the visual arts and cultural practices.

When: Thursday 20 July, 12.15–1.30pm
Where: Burwood Corporate Centre, 221 Burwood Highway, or online via Zoom.

This lecture will have live AUSLAN interpretation, and is hosted by Deakin University Art Gallery and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Register by Friday 14 July.
