Join us for a Garden-to-Plate Masterclass at the Deakin Community Garden. We’ll use some ingredients from the garden and create a feast for you and other students to enjoy.
The class will be led by Deakin alumna Harriet Lausberg, who’ll be making Mediterranean chickpea salad with fresh herb dressing and falafels. She’ll also explain the nutritional value of the ingredients and provide info on how to make meal preparation easier and reduce food waste.
Once the food is ready, you’ll be able to chat to other students as you sit down to share the meal. There will also be a guided tour of the garden, so you’ll learn what’s in season and be able to grab some of the produce to take home!
When: Monday 28 March, 12.30–1.30pm
Where: Deakin Community Garden – located at Burwood Highway Entrance 2. The garden is next to Building BC (Corporate Centre) and in between Buildings R and F.
