Do you take public transport to study on campus? If you’re a full-time undergraduate student, you could be eligible for a discount! Find out how below.

To be eligible, you need to be a full-time on-campus domestic undergrad student and have one of the following.
- Australian citizenship
- permanent residency
- refugee status
- an Australian Awards Scholarship
- be part of an approved overseas exchange program.
How to apply
- Complete the Check eligibility for transport concession form
- If you are eligible, select ‘Send me the application form’ to have it sent to your Deakin email inbox.
- From there, you should print out the form in colour, sign and date it.
- Take it to your nearest participating Public Transport Office for processing. Visit the PTV website for locations and hours of operation.
- Remember to always carry your concession card and myki while traveling on public transport.
Deakin students are issued concession cards for the calendar year in which you are enrolled. If the Student Travel Concession system says you are ineligible for a concession card or you are given a six-month concession card you may be enrolled incorrectly, or are enrolled as a part-time student for part of the year. If you believe you are entitled to a concession card for the full calendar year, please contact Student Central.
Domestic postgraduate or part-time students
Postgraduate and part-time students aren’t eligible for student concession fares. However you may still be eligible for a Concession myki if you have a Health Care Card or another concession entitlement. Find out more about concession and free travel.
