Re-enrol now for 2024 and you could win $100!
Excited about continuing your Deakin studies next year and getting one step closer to the incredible milestone of graduation? If you haven’t yet completed all your course requirements, you must re‑enrol to keep your place for 2024.
It’s so easy to add your units for 2024 – and if you do so by Friday 6 October, you could win one of 20 e-gift cards worth $100!
So go on – re-enrol now and you’ll be automatically entered in the draw. Talk about a win–win! Here’s what you need to do.
Step 1: plan your enrolment
To make sure you’re on track for the degree and career you want, you need to plan your enrolment carefully. You may have a firm idea of what you want to study in 2024, but if you’re unsure then it’s helpful to break it down into the following steps:
- View a summary of how you’re tracking against your course rules by checking your course completion progress in StudentConnect.
- Use this information along with your course map to work out the units you’ll need to enrol in for 2024. Make sure you use the course map for the year you started studying.
- To find all units available in 2024, use the unit search in the 2024 University Handbook.
Step 2: complete your re-enrolment
All sorted? It’s time to re-enrol, which is just a series of simple steps:
- Log in to StudentConnect, click the ‘Enrolment’ button in the left-side menu, select ‘Enrol in unit/course’ and select the 2024 academic year.
- Enrol in ALL the units you need for 2024 for your required study periods (Trimester 1/Semester 1 and Trimester 2/Semester 2, 2024). Trimester 3 is optional, but you can also add units for this study period.
- Add a major, minor or specialisation if your course requires one. If you’re unsure, it’s a great idea to talk to a Student Adviser who can help you work this out. Remember that adding a major, minor or specialisation just tells us what you plan this to be. It doesn’t select the units for you in StudentConnect.
- If you’re not planning to study in one of these compulsory trimesters/semesters, you’ll need to apply for a period of intermission.
- Once you’ve successfully re-enrolled, you’ll see a confirmation number on screen and the message ‘Units successfully saved’.
If you need to make a change after you’ve re-enrolled, you can amend your enrolment in StudentConnect any time before the start of Trimester/Semester 1, 2024.
Studying medicine, medical imaging or optometry? You’ll find your 2024 units in StudentConnect ready to be checked, so to secure your place for next year all you have to do is confirm these details. Some nursing students may also have pre-enrolled units – if this applies to you then you’ll receive an email this week with information on what to do next.
Simple – and you’ll still be eligible for a $100 prize if you confirm by Friday 6 October!
Essential info for international students
To meet your student visa requirements, you’ll need to re-enrol with a full-time study load in 2024 – which is four credit points in both trimesters 1 and 2. You can spread this load into Trimester 3 if your CoE allows this. Not all units may be offered in T3.
