Group of four students at desk

Help us improve our mental health and wellbeing resources – and earn up to $100!

Being a Deakin student is about more than just classes and grades. We want you to enjoy your university experience and thrive – personally as well as academically. Nothing is more important to us than your wellbeing, especially as COVID-19 continues to disrupt how we live, study and connect.

As part of our Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, we’re committed to educating students on the importance of mental health – which is a broader concept than just dealing with any problems you may face. Mental health is also about helping you to feel your best, whatever your personal situation.

To ensure that the health and wellbeing resources and tools we provide speak your language and meet your individual needs, we’re seeking input from you – our student community. What kinds of resources would you like access to? What are the platforms and tools you like to use? What’s working and what’s currently missing? How can we best educate, nurture and help you to feel your best while you study?

Will you be part of our student consultations?

We’re seeking feedback on our mental health and wellbeing resources from students willing to participate in two group sessions. It doesn’t matter how far into your degree you are and you don’t need to have previously accessed any of these resources to take part.

There will be two rounds of consultations, held online or on-campus for 90 minutes each:

If you’re eligible and would like to find out more information, please complete this short online form by 5pm, Monday 16 August. We’ll then send all selected students an email with information on how to book specific group times and locations. Ideally, you’ll be able to commit to attending a session in both rounds.

We know your time and feedback is valuable! To say thanks, you’ll receive a $50 Coles gift card for each session you attend.

Once we’ve reviewed all the student feedback, we’ll share it with the Deakin Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy Taskforce, and start putting ideas into action!
