Relax, Health students – we’ll help you navigate university life in our DeakinSEATS workshops

Whether you’re new to university or wondering how you can get the most out of your Health studies, we’ve created a series of virtual workshops to equip you with the essential skills you’ll need to succeed.

The Student Engagement and Transition Support (SEATS) program is designed to guide Faculty of Health students to thrive in their Deakin studies. Take a look below at the various sessions available this study period that will help you develop a range of valuable personal and professional skills.

Time Management and Achieving Goals
Practical tips for students to thrive in their Deakin studies. Learn the predictors of success, set clear goals, and practice time management skills to promote self-efficacy. Increase your feeling of connection and belonging with the Deakin community.

Develop skills to improve your learning capacity. Follow active learning techniques to increase your ability to retain and use information. Understand the self-determination theory and stay motivated throughout your student journey.

Resilience and Wellbeing
Foster a growth mindset and resilience to deal with the overwhelming challenges of studying at university. Understand how using your strengths can help you achieve your goals. Learn about the PERMA model to manage your wellbeing.
