About Me

Hi, I’m Gaetan and I am currently conducting research in the area of Electromaterials science, developing new electromaterials focusing on anodes (e.g. lithium metal) and electrolytes (e.g. ionic liquids/plastic crystals) for large scale, high stability, high energy density batteries: from material design to prototype, and characterising their properties for application in lithium (and sodium) based energy storage technologies.

This also includes research in the area of Corrosion science, on the protection of aluminium and stainless steel alloys; development of multifunctional coatings based on rare earth metals for inhibiting corrosion on steel.

Technical expertise: surface science (SEM, EDSX, optical profiling, FTIR, XPS), electrochemical testing for batteries and inert atmosphere glove box
