After two virtual celebrations, we are delighted that the 14th annual Deakin University Diwali Festival will return to our stunning Waurn Ponds campus this year!
Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights, an annual celebration that signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance and hope over despair. It’s a joyful milestone celebrated by people across the world irrespective of their culture or religion.

What to expect!
The Diwali Festival is set up for convenient access to all food, activities and entertainment, creating a true festival environment.
There will be:
- cultural performances
- a DJ
- food and market stalls
- free activities and henna art
- a rangoli artwork display
- a spectacular fireworks display.
This is a free family-friendly community event with potential transport options available for Deakin staff and students from the Burwood Campus pending interest.
