Our new UniStart resources are here!
In Trimester 3 we’re launching the enhanced version of our UniStart resources at Deakin. Undergraduate students are automatically enrolled in UniStart, which is delivered through CloudDeakin and appears in your unit tiles in DeakinSync.
Language and Learning Adviser Wes Howard explains more about what’s changed for our commencing students at Deakin.
What is UniStart?
UniStart is an Orientation resource created to help you with your transition to university. It’s all about showing you how to navigate university culture and communicating all the important information you need to make a great start to your studies.
What’s changing in UniStart?
UniStart still focuses on study skills and study success but also brings in all the other factors that contribute to your study success, like support services and tips on building a learning community, and opportunities for reflection and goal setting to enrich your university experience.
For new undergraduate students, the UniStart space provides you with a single space to find everything you need to prepare for life at Deakin, including recordings of your Orientation sessions. The primary focus of each resource is the first six weeks of learning to make sure you understand what support is available to you and what skills you’ll need, but there’s also a bit of focus on moving forward in your education journey.
