Check out these summer internship opportunities for students with disability

The Australian Network on Disability (AND) is offering summer internship opportunities for students with disability through its Stepping Into program.

How it works

The Stepping Into program offers practical paid work experience for successful students and recent graduates with disability who may face obstacles in gaining employment.

There are over 200 internships with over 35 host organisations available across Australia, in both capital cities and regional areas.

Internships will generally last four to eight weeks with the opportunity for flexible work hours to help manage your disability or other commitments.

Why you should apply

These internships are a chance to gain paid, direct work experience with leading Australian businesses and organisations. You can grow your knowledge and skills in your chosen industry and develop your networking and social skills.

You will have ongoing support throughout the program and can gain confidence and practice in requesting workplace adjustments.

There could also be potential career progression opportunities.

Who’s eligible

This program is for students in their final or second-last year of studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or those who have graduated within the last 36 months who meet the following criteria:

If you’re unsure, AND is happy to work with you to figure out if you meet these criteria.

How to apply

You can see a full list of internship opportunities on the Australian Network on Disability website. More roles will be added over the coming weeks, so you can check back regularly.

You can apply through UniHub. Applications close on Tuesday 6 November 2022.
