Library support for students impacted by travel restrictions

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, has impacted hundreds of Deakin students. Many are currently in China and may be unable to come to Australia in time for the start of Trimester 1 2020.

The library has many electronic resources to help you with your studies, which can be accessed via the library website. We aim to ensure that students impacted by the travel restrictions can access the resources they need to commence their studies online, if they wish. We are working with the Division of Student Life and Cloud Campus to ensure online resources are available and accessible for the courses being undertaken by this cohort.

If you are having trouble accessing the required reading for your course, the best way to contact us is via email at [email protected]. You can always try to get in touch via Library Chat as well, but testing has shown this may be difficult due to overseas firewalls. We will do everything we can to help you access the resources that you need.

We encourage impacted students to also read the University’s official coronavirus FAQs – international students page.

Students who are not impacted by the travel restrictions but would like to know what the University is doing in response to the virus can find answers on this general FAQs page.

As always, the library encourages you to ensure your information is coming from reliable sources.
