The ‘Faces of your library’ display
While the library has had online chat services for years, with the impact of lockdowns and changing restrictions throughout 2020 and 2021 our digital contact points have often been the only way students could get in touch with us. But who are the people behind the scenes answering questions and delivering the support our community needs?
At the start of 2021, the library’s Digital Experience and Communications teams planned a new display and communications campaign highlighting our amazing library staff for students and other library visitors. This campaign would use both our campus digital screens and our blog to showcase the staff they were communicating with, even if they couldn’t meet them face to face.
Our Library Advisory Services (LAS) team, who manage Library Chat and respond to queries via telephone and email contributed to creating the profiles. They shared both practical information (favourite library service, top three tips for using the library) as well as fun facts about them (favourite quote and recent movie/TV show they enjoyed).
These profiles were then developed for both a digital poster format as well as a blog, and the Digital Experience team created colourful, eye-catching designs for the displays and blog banners.
You can read the blogs from each campus here:
