Research Impact – Human Rights – Ben Hegarty

Staff member Ben Hegarty, Research Fellow in Gender and Sexuality Studies, has had his PhD research on transgender and social inequality in Indonesia cited in a major new Human Rights Watch report: Scared in Public and Now No Privacy: Human Rights and Public Health Impacts of Indonesia’s Anti-LGBT Moral Panic.  

The report generated widespread media attention globally, including Australia.
