Water safety skills class: Geelong
Event has expired!
Please note that this event has expired.
To become confident in the water and to learn more about Australian conditions, sign up for a free water safety skills class.
These aren’t formal learn-to-swim classes – rather, qualified instructors from Life Saving Victoria will explain water safety theory and demonstrate some practical skills like body boarding and rescue strategies. You’ll then be able to take a dip and put your newfound expertise into action in a supervised environment.
In groups of 10, you’ll complete six different activities. You’ll be given a rash vest, but make sure you bring swimwear or lightweight clothing, towel, hat, water, sunscreen and a change of dry clothes.
If the weather is unsuitable, you’ll complete an indoor program instead.
When: Tuesday 4 April, 11.30am to 2pm
Where: Eastern Beach Reserve – meet at the DUSA lounge, Waterfront Campus at 11.15am.
