Services at the hospital
The acute hospital provides a 24 hour/ 7 days a week Emergency Department service. Diagnostic services are provided on site through the Radiology, Pathology and Nuclear Medicine departments. Other integrated healthcare services are provided such as; Acute, Sub-Acute, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Special Care Neonatal, Critical Care, Dialysis, Day Stay, Oncology, Adult Psychiatry, Aged Care, Allied Health, and a wide range of Community based programs.
BRH acts as a regional referral hospital for more complex patients from Bilby Bush Nursing Hospital and local Community Health Centres.
There is a regular ambulance service between these centres and Bendalong.
There are several private clinics run from the BRH, including specialists in:
- Oncology
- Acute care
- Paediatrics and obstetrics
- Adult psychiatry.
There are seven doctors in this private clinic practice, with an additional three rooms attached for general practitioners.
There are also several units within the hospital dealing with specific issues, such as:
- Community aged care
- Cognitive dementia and memory
- Community mental health
- Chronic disease management
- Orthopaedic outpatients
- Midwifery.
The outpatients clinics in these areas are run on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for public patients.
