The primary function of an application is to provide sufficient information about your education, work history and experiences to allow the Selection Panel to decide whether you should be interviewed for the position.
As a guide, your application should contain the following information:
COVER LETTER:
Describe how your particular skills, abilities, work experience and qualifications
enable you to satisfy the requirements of the position.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Emphasis should be placed on addressing the KSC points in a separate statement.
CURRENT RESUME / CURRICULUM VITAE:
A resume is a history of your employment and work experience and should cover the
following areas;
- Personal Details: Name, address and contact phone numbers.
- Education and Training: List chronologically academic qualifications and training courses. Copies of your academic qualifications should be provided on request.
- Work Experience: Details of positions you have held from present to past, listing briefly the duties of each. Give greater detail on the more recent and current positions and highlight those duties relevant to the position. Indicate both paid and unpaid work experience.
- Other relevant skills: Indicate skills which will assist in judging whether you meet the key selection criteria, for example, leadership roles, publications, performances/productions, awards/achievements, membership of key associations.
- Referees: Provide the names and telephone numbers of at least two referees,including your current supervisor where possible. Your referees should be able to comment on your previous work performance and abilities.
