Introducing the new Copyright Module for Researchers

In the world of research, grappling with the complex legalities and licensing of copyright can be a daunting process. Whether it’s researching for a PhD, publishing in an academic journal, or writing for an assignment, it’s important to be across the ins and outs of copyright.

Thankfully, the new Copyright for Research module developed by Deakin Library provides a simple and comprehensive guide to navigating copyright. The module serves as a crucial tool for researchers and provides specific insights tailored for copyright in academia.

What is in the new Copyright Module for Researchers?

The research process involves constant interaction with copyrighted works – from literature reviews to data analysis. By exploring this new module and our online resource page you will have a greater understanding of copyright considerations when publishing and using other people’s work. The module outlines ways to stay aware of copyright responsibilities and possible issues during research, to avoid larger problems arising upon publication.

The Copyright for Research module highlights these key issues, offering a guide for those new to copyright or looking to brush-up their skills. Its objective is to proactively educate individuals early in their research journey, enabling them to grasp relevant issues and determine whether additional guidance and support from the Deakin Library Copyright team are necessary.

This module is now available on demand and can even be integrated into a PhD Individual Learning Plan. The on-demand flexibility of the module ensures that individuals can engage with the content when it best suits their needs.
