The Fogging – Luke Horton’s Novel Signed to Scribe
Congratulations to sessional creative writing tutor Luke Horton, who has signed a book contract with Scribe for his debut novel The Fogging.
The novel follows Tom and Clara, two struggling academics in their early thirties, who take a much-needed break in Bali, where they experience paradise — for a while. But when Clara becomes trapped in the hotel’s maze-like grounds during “the fogging” — a routine spraying of pesticide — the atmosphere of the holiday darkens.
The Fogging was highly commended in this year’s unpublished manuscript category of the VPLAs. The book is due out in mid-2020. Read more about the novel here >
Luke has written for The Guardian, The Saturday Paper, and The Australian, and was shortlisted for the Viva La Novella prize. He edits The Lifted Brow Review of Books, and is a member of acclaimed indie-rock band Love of Diagrams.
