Study
Whether you want to polish your creative writing skills, master the art of literary criticism, deepen your understanding of narrative and culture, dive into a major research project, or lay the groundwork for a literary or academic career, Deakin’s Writing, Literature and Culture program offers a wealth of study options.
Our students explore a huge range of topics — from Shakespeare to True Blood, from literary history to digital narratives, from children’s and YA writing to Australian and global literatures, script-writing, life writing, poetry, genre, gender, and beyond. Guided by our committed and experienced staff, students can undertake a Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters, or PhD in the field. See the Undergraduate and Postgraduate pages for a taste of what’s on offer.
From July 2021, Higher Degree by Research applications should consider the research areas for this group.
Our Prizes & Awards are part of a program which encourages excellence and industry collaborations.
