ACLAR – triple launch! Website and two books…

The Launch of the Australasian Children’s Literature Association for Research website, developed in tandem with Emma Whatman and hosted by Sue Chen on Thursday 15th July 2021 was the tasty start to a lunchtime feast of book launches….

The books were beautifully launched by Professor Clare Bradford, contextualising both the series’ positioning in children’s literature research and the editorial rigour and scholarship of each.

The first was Young Adult Gothic Fiction: Monstrous Selves/Monstrous Others, ed. Michelle J. Smith, Kristine Moruzi (University of Wales Press 2021)

The second book to be launched was Sexuality and Sexual Identities in Literature for Young People (Routledge 2021), edited by Kris Moruzi and Paul Venzo

Expanding outward from previous scholarship on gender, queerness, and heteronormativity in children’s literature, this book offers fresh insights into representations of sex and sexuality in texts for young people. (further details from Routledge here
