Nudging sport and recreation to promote Water in Sport

The VicHealth-led Water in Sport project (2018-2020) supported 8 Victorian local governments to make water the drink of choice in their sport and recreation centres. Join us to hear from the project partners working on research, policy, and implementation on project outcomes and secrets of success.

Speakers:

Tara Heneghan, Senior Project Officer for Healthy Eating at Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth), will discuss the motivation for the Water in Sport project and the formation of the project partnership.

Kate Wilkinson, Healthy Choices Coordinator at the Healthy Eating Advisory Service, Nutrition Australia will share insights into supporting local governments and retailers to implement healthy changes.

Eva Nikolitsis, Recreation Projects Officer at Frankston City Council, will provide an inside view of engaging retailers in change, day-to-day implementation and designing healthy food policies for success.

Miranda Blake, Research Fellow, and Devorah Riesenberg, Associate Research Fellow, at the Global Obesity Centre, Deakin University, will share the results of the Water in Sport evaluation including financial and customer health-behaviour outcomes of the initiative
