Deakin has been notified that a student who attended our Burwood Campus on Monday, 27 September, between 10am and 6pm, has tested positive to COVID-19.
Restrictions for Geelong and Surf Coast LGAs will be eased from 11.59pm tonight, Sunday 26 September. Current restrictions for campuses continue.
Following the state government announcement, Geelong, Surf Coast Shire and Mitchell Shire will commence a seven-day lockdown from 11.59 pm tonight, Sunday 19 September.
Following the Victorian government announcement today, regional Victoria will join metropolitan Melbourne in lockdown, commencing from 1pm today, Saturday 21 August with the aim of halting the recent regional COVID-19 outbreak.
Melbourne's lockdown has been extended until 11.59pm on Thursday 19 August. Burwood Campus is temporarily closed until this time, except to essential staff and those students living on campus. Geelong and Warrnambool campuses are open under restrictions.
Victoria will enter a seven-day circuit breaker lockdown commencing from 8pm tonight, Thursday 5 August, in an attempt to halt the recent COVID-19 outbreak.
The end of lockdown brings an easing of restrictions on Deakin's campuses. While we'll reopen for permitted/exempt teaching and learning activities, government advice is to continue to study from home if you can.
