Grassroots Communication back in Bilby

Helen Dimitriadis to get Streetlife jumping in Main St
The local community can look forward to some grassroots communication with Helen Dimitriadis back in Bilby. She has promised to get our Main Street jumping — a Streetlife Carnival each week from August to October.
Helen has worked before with the Bilby Business Association members, when she helped build up a BBA Strategic Plan for the next five years. This time, she will be running two workshops, one with business owners and one with the general community.

She is looking at ways to generate more tourism and involvement in the Streetlife program, which starts this August.
To run Streetlife, the Shire Council has obtained special funding from the state Tourism Authority, part of the regional initiatives announced by the government last year to encourage greater involvement and business in country towns.
Streetlife will have a weekly theme, and will involve all the central Bilby businesses and tourism outlets, as well as the community.
The Shire Council expects that Streetlife will generate up to 50% more business in these months, generally a quieter time in our region.
Helen has developed an initial plan for the eight weeks of Streetlife, and will be presenting this at the two workshop sessions. Come along and work with her to think outside the square and put Bilby on an even bigger map.
Times:
Workshop 1 Promoting the Businesses — Bilby Business Association members – Sporting Spot, Lambert Meeting Room, Monday 5 July, 1-2.30pm
Workshop 2 Carnival in the Streets — local community — Bilby Town Hall, Thursday 8 July, 8-9.30pm
The workshops are hosted by Bilby Shire Council as part of its Streetlife program, and include tea/coffee and light refreshments.
