Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellowships – funding for 2020 now open

Dear Colleagues

I am delighted to announce that the Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellowship scheme for funding in 2020 is now open. 

There are some exciting changes to the scheme for the 2020 round that I am sure you will welcome:

  • Salary support for successful Fellows has been increased to Academic salary Level B
  • Project support has been substantially increased to $15,000 per annum
  • For the 2020 round, the scheme has been reduced to a single stage to minimise processing time so that candidates are more likely to be able to start in the first half of 2020
    • NB: There is no Expression of Interest, applicants must lodge a full application
  • The Office of the DVCR will manage the administrative processes associated with the scheme and will organise panel meetings to discuss and rank applications to reduce administrative burden on Faculties and Institutes
    • 5 panels will be established – one for each Faculty and their associated Institutes and Strategic Research Centres and one for those Institutes that report directly to the DVCR
      • My team will be in touch with you soon to set times, dates and venues and establish panel membership

  • Applications must be lodged via the University’s Human Resources job application system “Deakin Recruit”
