Do you feel threatened, unsafe or are you worried about someone?

The Safer Communities team within Deakin Student Life is available to assist you and implement strategies to deal with these matters.  Early intervention can lead to a successful outcome where a student is able to continue their study with some minor allowances.  The aim is to equip you with strategies to manage the situation effectively and have someone available to provide you advice when required.  For more details on Safer Communities, please access the following website http://www.deakin.edu.au/students/safety-and-security/safer-community. SafeZone app

All staff should download the SafeZone app and also encourage their students to do the same.  This app connects you directly to security services (24 hours a day) when you need help on campus. With the app you can:

• send your name and location directly to security
• ask for first aid or assistance
• request a security guard to escort you somewhere on campus
