Barwon Health and Deakin University Research Week

The upcoming Barwon Health and Deakin University Research Week showcases local research activities and includes guest lectures by prominent Geelong researchers, various presentations, and education sessions aimed at early career researchers. In 2017, Research Week events will take place at St Mary’s Library and Research Centre, 192 Myers St, Geelong, from 13 -17 November. 

Emma Kowal will be giving the Harrison Innovation Lecture on Thursday evening Harrison’s Gift? Frozen Life in a Melting World , on the unintended consequences of freezing technologies.
 
Some of the highlights of the week include:

  • Monday, Nov 13, 4-6pm: Opening Session with keynote scientific speaker A/Prof Helen Abud from Monash University on ‘Personalised cancer medicine: Using organoids to take the guesswork out of treatment’ with closing remarks from Professor Peter Hodgson. Register Here.
  • Tuesday, Nov 14, 5-6.30pm: Public forum on doctor-patient communication with Professor Peter Martin. Register Here.
