Our human library books on display

In August Deakin Library ran a series of ‘Human Library’ events across our campuses in collaboration with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The events aligned with Wear it Purple day, an international movement aimed at fostering safe and inclusive environments for LGBTIQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and gender diverse, Queer/Questioning) young people.

To promote the event, each participant contributed a photo and a short blurb about themselves. This was designed into a book cover, so that our audiences could learn a little about each human book, their story and what to expect if they decided to ‘borrow’ them during the event.

These book covers were also adapted into a Verge digital display, with animated end screens to that included more information about the event and a QR code to register.
