Burwood 24/7

August 9, 2018

Official launch date for Burwood Library 24/7

Want to study with Deakin After Dark? Now you will have another space to kick back with a coffee, your assignments and your research at any time of day or night.

The Burwood Library is excited to announce that starting from Monday 27 August, students and staff will have access to level 2 study spaces and resources 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You won’t even need to swipe your ID to get in! Just bring yourself and the work that’s keeping you up past midnight, and find a quiet place to get to work.

Got questions? We have answers.

Will any Deakin staff be around overnight?

A security guard will be on-site to ensure your safety, and you can direct library-related enquiries to our 24/7 online chat service.

What floors will be accessible?

Level 2 (the floor where you enter the building) will be open and all resources on this level will be accessible.

Can I check out/return items overnight?

You can use the self-checkout near the Service Desk to check out resources. As usual, you can use the return slot on the outside of the building to return resources anytime.

Will rooms/booths be bookable overnight?

No, study rooms and booths will be available on a first come, first served basis from midnight to 8am.

If you have any other questions about the 24/7 access at Burwood Library, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
