Getting started with EndNote
EndNote is a fantastic software for managing references and citing. Among other things, the software can import sources from databases and comes with many referencing styles. It is the perfect tool for extensive research projects or literature reviews.
The library recommends EndNote for researchers, HDR students and research administrators. If you are an undergraduate, we strongly recommend you start by reviewing the Deakin Guide to Referencing. It will save you a lot of time to learn how to reference before attempting to use reference management software.
If you think EndNote is right for you, check out the library’s EndNote guide. It has information about the latest updates, helpful videos and heaps of step-by-step instructions. Work your way through each tab of the guide and you will be citing with ease and accuracy in no time!
EndNote 20 is now available
- Students can access it from the Deakin Software Library.
- Staff can access it from the Self Service/Software Centre on their Deakin managed computers.
Notes:
- Back up your EndNote library by saving a compressed copy before upgrading to EndNote 20.
- If you are using a Deakin-managed PC, it is recommended that you do not save it on H Drive (Desktop or Documents folder) as this is a network drive and will affect the conversion of the library to the new EN20 format.
