Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council National Conference

The Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council (AGMC) will be holding our National Conference in Melbourne from 21-23 September 2018, including our long-awaited Book Launch.

At this stage, we would love to know if you will be available over those days, and have ideas and suggestions for your involvement in presentations, discussions, workshops, performances, art exhibitions, media, etc. The conference is all about multicultural and LGBTIQ :

  • What has happened in the last 10 years for multicultural and/or multifaith LGBTIQ and their communities?
  • Has there been progress toward equality?
  • Has there been a change in approach to connecting with multicultural or LGBTIQ communities?

We hope to produce tangible strategic pathways following the conference to ensure equality and inclusivity can be actioned at the community, state and federal levels. Titled “Living and Loving in Diversity”, the AGMC Conference will cover topics such as:

  • Socio-political issues Youth Older adults Refugee and asylum seekers
  • New and emerging communities
  • Multi faith Health and wellbeing
  • Disability International research and movements
  • Local advocacy programs and strategies Arts and Media

Attendees to the conference will include people from state and federal government initiatives/departments, people working in community organisations (e.g. Red Cross), international/local advocates and researchers, local advocates, artists and activists, allies and people with lived experiences.
