Important – GRA HDR News and Resources

The following information is sent on behalf of Graduate Research Academy HDR Working Group.

Dear HDR candidates,

As we adjust to restrictions in Victoria there will be challenges for all. This newsletter is focused on some of the support and advice that is available. Please check FAQs and university emails to learn how these restrictions might impact you. Contact [email protected] if you think there’s something that should be included in the FAQs so that it can be updated.

Finance There is emergency financial support available to current domestic and international students in Australia with some changes to eligibility. There are details on the application portal

Isolation and quarantine support  Students with welfare queries relating to isolation should first phone or email Student Central to discuss options.

Student Central will escalate self-isolation queries to [email protected] if:

  • The query is not resolved for the student with the information provided
  • The student is distressed
  • The student does not have any accommodation secured and needs to self-isolate.

The university does not deliver food, however may facilitate delivery to students or staff. The university may consider the need for financial support for students. The university will also consider any mental health needs.

Wellbeing HDR students can access Professional Resilience from the FutureLearn courses available to Deakin students, and you can visit the Wellbeing site
