Invitation to MS Office 365 Teaching and Learning Workshops: final workshop- 28 April

DLF are currently organising a series of workshops as part of the Microsoft Office 365 in Teaching and Learning project which will cover the pedagogical applications of the Microsoft Office 365 tools and support capacity-building in using these products. The workshops will be carried out online. Sessions are targeting learning and teaching support teams, as well as academic staff who are already using or interested in using these tools in teaching and learning.

Wednesday 21st April 2021  

11:00-12:15                                   Session 1: Inquiry-based learning with Microsoft Forms, Sway and Onenote.

In this introductory session, Dr Isma Seetal, Senior Education Developer (DLF), Dr Tara Draper, Teaching Scholar (SEBE) and Vivek Venkiteswaran, Digital Resource coordinator (BusLaw), will present on how these tools can be used for a range of activities which support inquiry-based learning. This session provides a broad overview of how these tools can be used independently and together, in an integrated way for inquiry-based learning. This will be followed up by hands-on sessions which will focus on developing capacity in using the tools as per below.

Session 2: Using Microsoft Forms and Sway

In this workshop, you will explore the key features of Microsoft Forms and Sway. Through demonstrations and hands-on activities, you will build capacity in using these tools to engage students in specific learning activities.  You can either download the Microsoft Sway App prior to the session if you meet the system requirements or use the web application on the day.  You do not need any prior experience in using Forms or Sway to participate in this session

Session 3: Using Microsoft OneNote.

In this workshop, you will explore how Microsoft OneNote can be used as a stand-alone App and in Microsoft Teams to support student learning. Through demonstrations and hands-on activities, you will build capacity in using OneNote to engage students in specific learning activities.  It is recommended that you download the Microsoft OneNote App prior to the session.
