CHRG Seminar: Anna Kent, 21 April, 11am

CHRG Seminar Series | 21st April | Anna Kent

Our seminar on 21st April will be given by HDR candidate Anna Kent.

Anna recently submitted her PhD thesis – Australian scholarships for PNG and the South Pacific: mandates and missteps, 1948 to 2018

Where to now? Missing pieces in the international education history.

My PhD thesis was focused on the history of Australian government scholarships to the Pacific. In this seminar I will review the outcomes of my thesis, but particularly focus on what the thesis has revealed in terms of the history of international education in Australia more broadly. In short, the thesis has revealed significant gaps in the history of international education in Australia.

By starting this conversation, I hope to begin a process of filling those gaps either through my own work or encouraging others to engage with this fascinating aspect of Australia’s political, cultural and international history.

You can join the seminar at 11am on Wednesday 21st April via zoom.
