Dr Mary Iliadis, senior lecturer in criminology, is the recipient of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology New Scholar Prize (2020). The New Scholar Prize is awarded each year for the best publication in criminology (or a related area) written by a member of the Society who qualifies as an ECR. Mary’s article, ‘Victim representation for sexual history evidence in Ireland: A step towards or away from meeting victims’ procedural justice needs’, was published in Criminology and Criminal Justice (Q1) and has impacted public policy and legal reform in Ireland.

Mark Duckworth was a lead discussant at the Monash University Disaster Resilience Initiative’s Forum held on 16 February to mark the 10^th Anniversary of COAG’s endorsement of the National Strategy for Disaster Resilience.
