Staff success: Mary Iliadis, Viktor Jakupec

Dr Mary Iliadis, senior lecturer in criminology, is the recipient of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology New Scholar Prize (2020). The New Scholar Prize is awarded each year for the best publication in criminology (or a related area) written by a member of the Society who qualifies as an ECR. Mary’s article, ‘Victim representation for sexual history evidence in Ireland: A step towards or away from meeting victims’ procedural justice needs’, was published in Criminology and Criminal Justice (Q1) and has impacted public policy and legal reform in Ireland.

Hon. Prof. Viktor Jakupec, School of Humanities and Social Sciences has been awarded the post-doctoral degree of Doctor habilitatus from the University of Giessen. This is the highest degree German universities can award. He received the Dr. habil. in recognition of his research in the field of political economy analysis and development aid with a focus on education.
